'Saiyaara' - Some Loved, Others Hated, None Ignored

Mohit Suri’s latest romantic drama Saiyaara is stirring buzz, with audiences either swooning or shrugging. Critics have mostly leaned positive — with ratings ranging from 4/5 to 2/5. But it's the public response that's truly split.

Many moviegoers are celebrating it as a nostalgic return. “It felt like old-school Bollywood is back,” said one viewer.

Another added, “Thank God we’re finally getting hot newcomers who can act too!” The chemistry between debutants Ahaan Pandey and Aneet Padda has drawn applause, as has the film’s music.

“I was literally humming the songs all the way home. Every track’s a banger,” a fan shared.

But not everyone’s impressed. One viewer complained, “Interval tak kuch khaas laga nahi, baad mein theek tha… but why do Indian films always need a happy ending?”

Another went harsher, “Overhyped. Template movie. Below-average music. Trying to be Aashiqui 2 but missing soul.”

Some viewers even spotted Korean film influences and called out the predictable narrative. “Too long and way too stretched,” said one attendee, “Ahaan has screen presence, sure, but was kind of annoying. Aneet was okay, not great.”

Still, the film has clearly found an audience. “It filled a gap in Bollywood – good music, fresh faces, and that emotional pull,” said one fan.

Theatres reportedly had solid footfall, especially among younger couples. Love it or leave it, Saiyaara has people talking — and for a genre that many thought was fading, that's no small win. Whether it becomes a blockbuster or just a bold attempt, one thing’s clear; Mohit Suri’s signature style still knows how to spark debate.

"You may love it or hate it, but can't be ignored", said a netizen.
