There has been considerable speculation surrounding the casting of the female lead in Spirit, the highly anticipated film directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and starring Prabhas.
Recent reports suggest that Deepika Padukone, who was initially being considered for the role, is no longer part of the project.
According to industry sources, Deepika reportedly made several high-end demands, including a remuneration of ₹20–25 crore, a personal entourage of 26 staff members, luxury hotel accommodations for her entire team, and private jet travel from Mumbai to the filming locations.
Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga is said to have declined these conditions and has since begun exploring alternative options.
The latest buzz indicates that Kannada actress Rukmini Vasanth is now being considered for the role.
With a relatively modest fee of around ₹2 crore and greater flexibility in scheduling, she presents a more practical choice for the production.
Sources also note that Rukmini has no extravagant demands, making her a more viable and cost-effective option.
While no official confirmation has been made, landing this role could be a major breakthrough for Rukmini Vasanth and potentially catapult her into the upper ranks of Indian cinema.
