Report: War 2 Holds Steady, Needs Final Push

The North American box office is heating up as two of 2025’s most anticipated Indian films, Coolie and War 2;  gear up for their grand premieres.

Coolie Continues Its Rampage

Superstar Rajinikanth’s Coolie is on a record-breaking spree overseas. As of the latest update, the film has amassed a staggering $1,820,932 from 522 locations, across 1,729 shows, with an impressive 71,948 tickets sold.

When combined with Canadian sales, Coolie’s total North America premiere advance bookings stand at $2.09 million, marking a monstrous $200K+ single-day jump. Notably, both Tamil and Telugu versions posted $100K+ jumps in the last 24 hours alone.

Industry watchers point out that AMC Theatres has so far opened only a limited number of shows for Coolie. A full-scale rollout is expected tomorrow, which could further skyrocket collections.

War 2 Holds Steady, Needs Final Push

Meanwhile, War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, is showing steady progress. The film has collected $470,392 from 696 locations, across 1,852 shows, with 17,653 tickets sold. Its total North America premiere advance sales have now reached $520K.

The Ayan Mukerji-directed spy thriller posted another good day, but trade analysts say it will need a big final jump tomorrow if it hopes to cross the $1 million premiere mark.

With just two days to go until the premieres, all eyes are on whether Coolie can set new overseas records and if War 2 can pull off a late surge to close the gap.
