Rashmika Trolled Over Animal Comment

Rashmika Trolled Over Animal Comment

Rashmika Mandanna has come under heavy criticism for her recent remarks about Ranbir Kapoor’s controversial character Ranvijay from Animal.

The film has already sparked widespread debate for its glorification of toxic masculinity and the alpha-male archetype.

Rashmika’s statement, made during a conversation with journalist Barkha Dutt, added fresh fuel to the controversy.

When a fan asked if she would date someone like Ranvijay in real life, Rashmika responded, "I truly believe that if you love someone and someone loves you, the changes will happen."

Her response surprised the audience and drew immediate backlash online, with many accusing her of normalizing harmful relationship dynamics.

Barkha Dutt challenged her reply, saying, "Do you actually think that you can change people? You know that’s a young and romantic idea?"

Rashmika went on to explain, "When you grow up with someone, you're still forming your personality. You figure out what you like and what you don’t. And when you grow together... you reflect on how much both people change over time."

She later admitted, "Maybe I’m just talking about those miracle partners or situations."

Internet Reacts Strongly

Rashmika’s remarks didn’t sit well with many on social media, especially on platforms like Reddit, where users accused her of promoting regressive views.

One user commented, "It’s sad that girls are still conditioned to believe they can fix men. Rashmika is just echoing societal expectations."

Another wrote, "What world is she living in? Just to defend her character, she's making irresponsible statements. Women aren't obligated to fix anyone."

Others called her a "major pick-me," while another remarked, "It’s embarrassing to see a grown woman say this."

A particularly blunt reaction read, "She messed up here. The correct answer should’ve been: ‘No, I wouldn’t date Ranbir’s character from Animal in real life.’”

The backlash highlights how celebrities’ opinions on sensitive topics like relationships and gender roles can quickly become the center of public scrutiny — especially when linked to already controversial films.
