Prabhas opens up on prejudice in Bollywood

Prabhas starrer Saaho was one of the most anticipated films in Bollywood this year and with its box-office performance, it is easy to see the stardom of the actor.

The south Indian superstar, who has made his Bollywood debut with Sujeeth's film, is garnering attention from all quarters, despite the criticism Sahoo faced for its disengaging storyline and direction.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, the actor spoke about his experience in Bollywood and the prejudice that he faced in the industry.

He said, "It has always been there in every region. Every region is used to their own actors — some have been around for 20-30 years. So, that is bound to happen. But, I think if a film is good then they always watch it. Otherwise we would never see a new actor of a director getting a chance. Baahubali broke a lot of barriers, and in a way, paved a new path for a lot of such pan India films. There will be a lot more [of such films] in the future."

Saaho was indeed a special film for Prabhas as it was touted to be India's most expensive action films ever made.

It also starred Arun Vijay, Jackie Shroff, Lal, Neil Nitin Mukesh, and Mandira Bedi in key roles and was produced by Vamsi Krishna Reddy, Pramod Uppalapati and Bhushan Kumar under their respective banners of UV Creations and T-Series.

Post Baahubali, Saaho was one of the biggest releases for Prabhas and it has earned more than Rs 400 crores at the box office. The film was released in Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu.
