PK's US Magic Missing for Ustaad Bhagat Singh?

PK's US Magic Missing for Ustaad Bhagat Singh?

The advance booking trend for Ustaad Bhagat Singh in the United States has raised concerns, as the numbers remain modest with only a few days left for the premiere.

Despite the strong overseas following of Pawan Kalyan, the film’s advance sales in North America have not picked up the expected momentum.

According to early booking data, the film has grossed around $160K in the USA from premiere pre-sales across about 1,016 shows, with nearly 6,936 tickets sold. Including Canada, the total North American advance stands at roughly $175K.

For a star of Pawan Kalyan’s stature, a premiere advance of under $200K with less than a week to go is considered underwhelming by trade observers.

The numbers look even weaker when compared to the actor’s previous benchmark set by They Call Him OG, which had recorded a massive $1.9 million in premiere pre-sales in the US market. In comparison, Ustaad Bhagat Singh currently stands at barely around 8% of that figure.

Industry watchers say the film is also facing tough competition from Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge, starring Ranveer Singh, as both films are scheduled to release on March 19.

With the trailer of Ustaad Bhagat Singh yet to arrive, trade circles believe the advance booking trend could improve in the coming days depending on audience response to the promotional material.
