Thanks to the digital streaming platforms, film lovers are not entirely missing out on movie entertainment during the lockdown.
Some movies are directly released via OTT platforms and some movies that didn’t have long run at the ticket windows due to the sudden lockdown are also coming to OTT platforms earlier than scheduled.
Here are a couple of movies that are currently trending on top in Netflix.
Kappela: This Malayalam movie starring Roshan Mathews, Anna Ben and Sreenath Basi in lead roles had a short run at the ticket windows as it was released just a week before the Government imposed Nation wide lockdown.
The film is a fine romance/thriller that also has a strong message for young girls. The film’s first half is okayish, but the second half is packed with many surprises.
It is not on par with other trending movies from Malayalam Cinema, but has enough stuff to make you watch it in one go.
Bulbbul: Anushka Sharma’s production house has been producing good content that is not only pleasing the regular cinema lovers but also the critics.
Bulbbul is a fable with horror and fantasy elements with terrific performance from the lead woman Tripti Dimri.
The film’s production design, cinematography and music will transport you to another world.
The film’s climax is a bit of a let-down, but Bulbbul is worth your time.
