We have been reporting that RRR is not going to come anytime in 2021. But still the makers pinned on the hopes to come by this October.
The reason as cited by the makers for the postponement is the situation at the theatres.
Any big film is getting toppled at the box office miserably after the second wave. The mood of the audience is not like that of pre Covid times.
Adding to that some states are yet to allow the theatres to open. Moreover, RRR is a pan India film which has to be released simultaneously in all the centers at a time.
It takes a lot of time to get to that universal normalcy state. If the third wave doesn't come up, then the film RRR may be set to release for Sankranthi 2022.
This is the latest update from the makers. The information has come through Rajamouli's son Kartikeya and RRR producer Danayya.
We have to see if this gets materialized without any further postponement. Already there was an assumption that the film may hit the screens only by Ugadi 2022. But this hasn't come yet from the makers.
