The makers of The Raja Saab initially considered remixing a popular Hindi song to broaden the film’s appeal among North Indian audiences.
Although director Maruthi — primarily known for his Telugu-centric storytelling — isn’t well-versed in Bollywood music, his team believed that a remixed Hindi track could enhance the film’s pan-India reach.
However, the plan has reportedly been dropped. The reason?
Acquiring the rights to a popular Hindi song proved to be more expensive than producing an original composition.
As a result, music director Thaman will now create a retro-style track that captures a similar vibe but is entirely original.
Meanwhile, the teaser for The Raja Saab received a warm response from Telugu audiences, but reactions from the Hindi-speaking belt were more mixed.
Many on social media and in Hindi media circles felt that the teaser lacked freshness — especially when compared to recent Hindi horror-comedies like Stree and the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise.
