Director Maruthi spoke at a press meet on the second day of The Raja Saab release.
He said, “First, I apologize to the entire media fraternity and fans who had to wait until 1 a.m. at Vimal Theatre for the special show. That delay was not in my purview, and I was not aware of it at the time. I understand that it is sleeping time, and since the subject of the film revolves around a mind game, judgment becomes difficult for both fans and the media. Had it been a routine mass entertainer, it would have been fine, but as this is a mind-game-based film, the situation was different.”
He also revealed that he received calls from several Prabhas fans’ association presidents, who appreciated the film but questioned the absence of the old-age look of Prabhas shown in the first teaser.
Maruthi clarified that the scene lasts for about eight minutes and that the rooftop fight sequence is the first of its kind on the Indian screen. He added that this sequence is being incorporated starting from the 6 p.m. shows today.
Maruthi thanked Prabhas for giving him the opportunity to direct such a large-scale film. Producer Vishwa Prasad was seated beside him while he was speaking.
