Director Lokesh Kanagaraj started his career with modest films, working with relatively lesser-known music directors.
Only after the blockbuster success of Karthi’s “Kaithi” did he begin his long-standing collaboration with music sensation Anirudh Ravichander.
Now, it seems Lokesh cannot imagine delivering a hit without Anirudh’s music.
The recent Rajinikanth starrer Coolie is proof: much of its buzz came from Anirudh’s chartbusters “Power” and “Monica.”
Inside the film too, critics and audiences agreed it was Anirudh’s powerful background score that elevated several otherwise dull sequences.
While “Coolie” ended up as an average grosser with some territories reporting losses, it was saved from outright failure largely due to Anirudh’s work.
Recognizing this, Lokesh himself publicly declared that he will not make any film without Anirudh in the future.
He dismissed speculation about reuniting with his Kaithi composer Sam CS, confirming that even the upcoming Kaithi 2 will feature Anirudh Ravichander’s music.
