Actor Jayam Ravi’s wife, Aarti Ravi, has accused him of financial and emotional abandonment in a heartfelt statement posted on social media.
Her post came shortly after the actor was seen with his rumoured partner, Kenishaa Francis, at producer Ishari Ganesh’s daughter’s wedding in Chennai on Friday.
Breaking her silence, Aarti wrote, “For a year, I have carried silence like armour… not because I didn’t have the truth, but because my sons needed peace more than I needed to be heard.”
She claimed Ravi, whom she was married to for 18 years, has not only walked away from their marriage but also from his responsibilities as a father.
She alleged that Ravi has been avoiding calls, skipping scheduled meetings, and distancing himself from their two sons, aged 10 and 14.
“They are too young to understand legal clauses, but old enough to feel abandonment,” she wrote.
Aarti also criticized media outlets referring to her as Ravi’s “ex-wife,” clarifying that their divorce is still pending.
“I remain Aarti Ravi until both I and the law decide otherwise,” she asserted.
She concluded her post with a powerful message: “For the two boys who still call you Appa. And for them, I will never back down.”
Jayam Ravi, known for his role as Arulmozhi Varman in Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan, announced his separation from Aarti in September 2023.
The couple married in 2009 and have two sons together.
