Anushka Shetty who scored a big hit with her last movie Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty will next be seen in a female-centric movie Ghaati.
Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and produced by First Frame Entertainments, with UV Creations presenting, the film is scheduled for release on September 5th. The promotional material has generated strong expectations.
Producer Rajeev Reddy shared that the initial idea was to make a commercial action film centred around a female lead.
“After Karthavyam, we haven’t really had a Telugu film of that scale. Among today’s female stars, only Anushka enjoys that kind of mass appeal. When Krish expressed interest in collaborating with her, that’s how Ghaati began to take shape.
Initially, we considered setting the story against the backdrop of Araku and ganja smuggling. There were even discussions about whether it should be a feature film or a web series. But once Anushka came on board, we locked it as a theatrical film and started full-scale production.”
He also confirmed that casting Vikram Prabhu was entirely director Krish’s decision. “Since we’re releasing the film in Tamil as well, his presence will be a big advantage there. Vikram Prabhu has delivered a terrific performance, and his character adds significant weight to the story.”
Rajeev Reddy further affirmed that Anushka’s character will be just as intense and impactful as depicted in the promotional material.
