Popular stylist Neeraja Kona is making her directorial debut with Telusu Kada, starring Siddu Jonnalagadda, Srinidhi Shetty, and Raashii Khanna.
The film, produced by People Media Factory, is set to release on the 17th of this month.
In an exclusive interview with us, Neeraja Kona shared that writing has always been a passion for her.
“I’ve loved writing for a long time. I even published a book of poetry. While working as a stylist, I used to read movie scripts. It was a great learning experience. Eventually, I started writing seriously. The validation I received from friends gave me the confidence to pursue it further.”
She also spoke about the delay in the project and how the team made the most of that time.
“By the time we began, Tillu Square was already underway, and Siddu had committed to Jack. We used that time to refine and improve the script.”
Neeraja described her collaboration with Siddu Jonnalagadda as deeply supportive and creative.
“Siddu gave me complete support. I call him my training wheels. Being a writer himself, he helped me immensely. If it weren’t for Siddu, the character wouldn’t be the same. The story would still be there, but the narrative would have turned out differently.”
She revealed that the film centers around three key characters.
“It’s a very strong, character-driven story. Siddu's portrayal as Varun will be mesmerizing. Srinidhi plays Radha, a complex and layered character. Raashii Khanna portrays Anjali, a role rooted in sensibility and depth. The audience will really enjoy the emotional journey between these three characters.”
Neeraja also expressed her desire to one day direct her good friend, Nani.
