A fierce competition has emerged over the Telugu theatrical rights for Coolie, starring Superstar Rajinikanth and featuring Nagarjuna in a pivotal role.
Top contenders include actor Nagarjuna himself, popular producer Naga Vamsi, and major distributors Asian Sunil and Dil Raju.
Sources suggest that all three have submitted offers to Sun Pictures, the production house backing the film.
Interestingly, Naga Vamsi has reportedly made the highest bid so far — an impressive Rs 42 crore. However, Nagarjuna's involvement in the film as a lead actor may influence Sun Pictures’ final decision, with some speculating he might be given priority.
Coolie is slated for a grand release on August 15, directly clashing with the much-anticipated War 2.
Given the star power involved and the competitive bids, the Telugu rights deal is expected to be finalized shortly.
