Flop In Theatres- Superhit On TV

Predicting the success or failure of a film on the TV remains a difficult task.

'Waltair Veerayya', once a box office hit, met an unfortunate fate on television, while 'Adipurush', a theatrical disaster, found resounding success on the small screen.

The television premiere of the movie Adipurush on the Star Maa channel garnered an impressive 9.5 Urban rating, a remarkable achievement indeed.

Considering the recent ratings of big films on small screen, this rating attained by Adipurush proves to be highly commendable.

The feat of attaining such high ratings on television is uncommon, particularly considering the ongoing broadcast of a World Cup match. Against such formidable competition, the movie's performance is noteworthy.

In contemporary times, several successful films, including Waltair Veerayya, Bro, Godfather, Karthikeya-2, and Sardaar, have failed to leave a lasting impression. Only Balagam and Dhamaka could score better.

This mythological saga, "Adipurush" with Prabhas in the lead, has faced significant criticism, particularly for its contentious dialogue featuring Hanuman's character.

Legal interventions had to be made, adding to the already tumultuous situation. The subpar quality of the visual effects further marred its result at theatres.

The unexpected triumph of the movie on television, especially in the wake of the concurrent World Cup broadcast, came as a surprise to many. Yet, Prabhas's starrer managed to shine, attaining a commendable TRP rating.
