Filmmaker Abhinav Kashyap, who directed Salman Khan’s blockbuster Dabangg in 2010, has reignited his feud with the actor and his family.
Ahead of the film completing 15 years, Abhinav launched a scathing attack, calling Salman a “gunda” and “badtameez,” while accusing him of lacking interest in acting.
He alleged that Salman merely “shows up” for work and thrives more on the power of celebrity status than on performance, adding that the actor has not been serious about his craft for over two decades.
Abhinav also branded Salman the “father of the star system in Bollywood” and claimed that the Khan family exerts vindictive control over the industry.
According to him, they retaliate against those who oppose them, making it difficult for filmmakers to work independently.
He recalled his brother Anurag Kashyap’s struggles with Tere Naam, stating that Anurag was mistreated, denied credit, and eventually left the project.
Drawing parallels between his own experience and Anurag’s, Abhinav said both brothers faced bullying and exploitation.
He emphasized that good filmmaking begins with strong scripts but alleged that industry politics often overshadow creative integrity.
Having previously directed Jung, Besharam, Paanch, and Yuva, Abhinav’s comments highlight his long-standing disillusionment with Bollywood’s star-driven power structures.
