Of late, social media has become a key indicator for filmmakers to announce projects and promotional content.
For several days, online buzz revolved around Lokesh Kanagaraj’s next film, and eventually, Mythri Movie Makers officially announced his collaboration with Allu Arjun.
Similarly, promotional assets such as teasers and songs are increasingly being unveiled in response to strong fan demand online.
Now, several social media handles and Prabhas fans are abuzz with reports that Prashanth Neel’s team is currently polishing the script for Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam, with filming expected to begin by mid next year.
Fans are speculating that a teaser could be released on January 25 or 26, just ahead of India’s Republic Day. This speculation gained momentum after Hombale Films’ anniversary post, which many believe subtly hinted at the next chapter of Salaar.
At present, Prabhas is busy with two projects — Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s “Spirit” and Hanu Raghavapudi’s “Fauji.” Both films are expected to continue shooting simultaneously this year.
Spirit has already locked its release date for March 5, 2027. Given this packed schedule, the shoot of “Salaar 2” is likely to begin only after Prashanth Neel completes his current project with NTR, “Dragon.”
This brings up an interesting question — why announce Salaar: Part 2 so early? Is it purely fan service, or a strategic move to keep the buzz alive around the franchise?
