Exclusive: NTR–Neel's Dragon North America Rights Not Sold

One of the most anticipated films currently under production in Telugu cinema is "Dragon", popularly referred to as #NTRNeel.

The high-budget action drama marks the collaboration between NTR and director Prashanth Neel.

The film is progressing at a rapid pace, with the team recently wrapping up a major shooting schedule in Jordan.

Although the makers have not officially announced a release date, recent reports claimed that the film had sealed an all-time second-biggest business deal in North America. However, this information is not accurate.

According to our exclusive sources, the North America theatrical rights have neither been sold nor closed. In fact, they will not be sold at all.

Director Prashanth Neel has reportedly decided to retain the North American rights himself.

Instead of selling them outright, he plans to release the film through an overseas distributor on a commission basis. This means a U.S. distributor will release the film on his behalf, but the rights will remain with Neel.

Sources further reveal that this decision was made after discussions between NTR and Prashanth Neel. The director is said to be betting big on the overseas market.

His previous film "KGF: Chapter 2" created all-time records for a Kannada film in North America, while "Salaar" grossed over $9 million in the region.

With such strong overseas performance in the past, Prashanth Neel appears confident about maximizing returns by holding on to the North American rights for "Dragon."
