Director Creates History With His Acting Debut

Ace Tamil filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj is making headlines once again — but this time, not for his direction.

The Leo and Vikram director is all set to make his acting debut in an upcoming film titled DC, produced by Sun Pictures, the same banner backing his next directorial venture Coolie.

According to reports, Lokesh has been offered a staggering ₹35 crore for his first-ever acting role, making him the highest-paid debut actor in Indian cinema history. This massive paycheck has taken both fans and industry insiders by surprise.

DC, directed by Arun Matheswaran of Captain Miller fame, will feature Wamiqa Gabbi as the female lead.

The film is said to be an action thriller, with Lokesh playing a character that perfectly complements his larger-than-life creative image.

Given his immense popularity and cult following, DC is already expected to open big at the box office.

Sources reveal that Lokesh’s fee isn’t just for acting — he will also contribute to the script, screenplay, and creative supervision of the project alongside Matheswaran.

With DC, Lokesh Kanagaraj has achieved yet another milestone — from being one of India’s most sought-after directors to becoming the highest-paid debut actor, redefining what it means to be a multi-talented force in cinema.
