COVID Threat: Low Collections in Hyderabad

COVID Threat: Low Collections in Hyderabad

The number of Omicron and COVID19 cases has been rising in Telangana too. Despite the official figures being comparatively low, people have understood that the cases are growing considerably.

The spread of COVID-19 is affecting the collections of new movies.

“Bangarraju”, which has been performing well in Andhra Pradesh, has failed to make an impact in Hyderabad. Other movies like "Rowdy Boys", and "Hero" show the same result.

The multiplexes are showing a low number of footfalls for all films. The trend will continue this weekend as well.

People have now started watching movies on OTT platforms again, instead of going to the theaters.

In December, the collections for all Telugu films were huge in Hyderabad and other districts in Telangana. “Akhanda”, “Pushpa” and “Shyam Singha Roy” have benefited then.

But in January, the COVID-19 cases are on the rise. Hence, people are not stepping into the theaters.
