Chiru Suggested On What Not To Include In Bholaa

Shadow released in 2013 was the last directorial venture of Meher Ramesh who is making a comeback after 10 years with Bholaa Shankar starring Chiranjeevi.

During his exclusive interview with greatandhra.com Meher Ramesh revealed the reason for taking a long break and how he got the opportunity to direct Chiranjeevi.

“I planned two different projects, after Shadow. But they didn’t materialize. I lent my support to VV Vinayak for Chiranjeevi’s comeback movie Khaidi No 150. After watching Vedhalam, I felt Chiranjeevi would be the right choice if it is remade in Telugu. I liked it because it has the scope for entertainment. I definitely wouldn’t have done Lucifer’s remake. I always want to see Annayya in an entertaining character and commercial movie.”

The director says he along with his team of writers under the guidance of Satyanand has done sufficient changes to the script.

“We changed the script by 60 to 70%. We just used the core point of the original. After watching Vedhalam, Chiranjeevi gave his suggestions on what not to include in the remake version.”

Meher reveals women trafficking is the main subject of the movie.

“We did our research on women trafficking cases in India. We were astounded to know a few shocking facts about those cases. The movie also has brother-sister bonding as one of the other big attractions. Bholaa Shankar will create mass euphoria, as we made sure the movie will appeal to larger sections.”

The director says though successful directors like Harish Shankar, Anil Ravipudi, Koratala Siva were ready to lend their support, he didn’t use their services, so as not to disturb them.

Meher Ramesh also shared his journey and friendship with Mahesh Babu and his family.
