Chiranjeevi: 'Acharya Makes Audience Shed Tears At The End'

Mega Star Chiranjeevi is coming up with 'Acharya' on 29th of this month. He gave an exclusive interview to greatanahdra.com today and shared many insights about the film and also about the industry in general.

Saying about the change of audience's taste, he said- "People got exposed to World Cinema these days. They used to watch our films when they had no option. The age old dramatic narration wouldn't work now".

He expressed about the need to work with Ram Charan for this film citing some personal reasons as well.

"It was a long time dream of Surekha and my mother to watch me and Charan working together. We convinced Rajamouli during the time of Magadheera. Now we did a full length film together with Koratala. You will understand why we have opted only for Charan for this role," he said.

Chiranjeevi also went nostalgic recalling his olden days and expressed his pride looking at the growth of Telugu Film Industry at present.

He shared- "In our days the shoots used to complete in forty days. But now the number of going to 80, 100 and 160. There may be many reasons for this but it should be in control. Number of working days decide the budget of the film. We need to adopt some planning methods from Hollywood. Excepting the films like RRR, all the makers should plan meticulously. Well, there used to be no identity for Telugu films in pan India in the olden days. K Vishwanath broke the ice with Shankarabharanam. But eventually situation was back to normal until Rajamouli took Telugu cinema to National level from Bahubali".

Mega Star promises a wholesome entertainment with Acharya.

"Acharya is a wholesome treat for the audience those expect certain elements from my films. This is a class film with mass touch. This film would certainly make audience cry at the end".

Finally when asked about the criticism from his fans and admirers with regard to to his bowing down to Jagan Mohan Reddy during a discussion about film ticket prices, Chiranjeevi responded- "I don't care anybody's criticism. I bowed down to the Chief Minister giving respect to the chair. When I was the Tourism Minister at the center, some Chief Ministers used to wait for my appointment. That's the respect to the chair. Had I not brought those hiked up ticket prices, RRR wouldn't have collected this much".

Chiranjeevi and Ram starring Acharya is hitting the screens on 29th of April. Koratala Shiva directed the film while produced by Niranjan Reddy and Anvesh Reddy.
