The cinema industry and its potential box office collections have grown significantly over time. There were days when collecting Rs 10 crore share at the box office was considered a major achievement.
But eventually, the numbers skyrocketed, and we saw how much Prabhas’ Baahubali 2 collected — more than Rs 1800 crore gross, which translates to nearly Rs 900 crore share.
There have been many such Telugu box office blockbusters, like RRR, Pushpa 2, and Kalki 2898 AD, that crossed Rs 100 crore share.
Almost all young top stars have had films that crossed the Rs 100 crore share mark.
Even among senior heroes, Chiranjeevi achieved this milestone with Waltair Veerayya. Venkatesh saw it with Sankranthiki Vastunnam. Balakrishna is getting close but hasn’t quite made it. Nagarjuna is still far from reaching that figure.
Surprisingly, Pawan Kalyan — who is hailed as a top star — has not yet seen a Rs 100 crore share from any of his films.
His all-time biggest box office hit so far is Attarintiki Daredi, which was an industry hit at the time. However, it didn’t make Rs 100 crore share, as that was a much harder benchmark back then.
Now, Pawan Kalyan is coming up with Hari Hara Veera Mallu. Whether he will finally reach the Rs 100 crore share mark remains to be seen.
