Banaras Isn't Just A Time-Travel Movie: Khan

Banaras Isn't Just A Time-Travel Movie: Khan

The trailer of Zaid Khan’s debut flick Banaras gave the impression that it’s a time travel concept with a love story set in the backdrop of Banaras city.

However, the actor during the film’s press meet, clarified that it’s not completely a time-travel concept and there’s more than that in the movie.

“Banaras is a mysterious, and very mature love story, with comedy, action, suspense, and family elements. The time travel is just about 20 to 25% part of the movie. There is also a good message in the movie. After the interval, there is a portion that will put the audience on the edge of their seats.

I’m a Muslim, yet I love to visit temples and churches. I feel actors don’t have religion. We all Indians are one. Cinema is our religion.”

Zaid informs the script has a universal appeal; thus, they are releasing it at the pan-India level.

“When the first copy was ready, we’ve shown to well-wishers. They loved the content and the visuals and suggested going for the Pan India release.”

Sonal Monteiro played the leading lady in the movie directed by Jayathirtha. Banaras is set for release on November 4th.
