Veteran actor Paresh Rawal, best known for his iconic role as Babu Bhaiyya in Hera Pheri, stunned the internet when he recently revealed that he once drank his own urine for two weeks to recover from a knee injury—an admission that sparked widespread trolling.
Now, the senior actor has clapped back at the criticism.
In a candid chat with Bollywood Hungama, Paresh quipped, "I didn’t offer them urine, did I? Or are they upset because I didn’t share it with them? Maybe they’re thinking, ‘Yaar, he drank it all alone and didn’t give us any!’”
He went on to say, "It’s something that happened 40 years ago in my life. I just mentioned it—what’s the big deal? People love making a mountain out of a molehill. Let them have their fun."
When asked if anyone had questioned him about it in person or tried the method themselves, he replied, "Many have, but I don’t want to get into that."
Earlier this year, the Bhagam Bhaag actor revealed that this unusual remedy was suggested by the late Veeru Devgan, legendary action director and father of Ajay Devgn.
After sustaining a knee injury, Paresh was taken to Nanavati Hospital by actors Tinnu Anand and Danny Denzongpa. Veeru Devgan, during a visit, advised him, "Drink your first morning urine. All fighters do it."
Surprisingly, the remedy worked. Paresh said his condition improved so significantly within 15 days that even doctors were shocked. He returned to work in just a month, far earlier than the expected two-month recovery period.
Despite the trolling, Paresh stands by his experience, dismissing the criticism with his trademark wit and grace.
