83 Maker Announces A Film On IPL Founder Lalit

As the IPL (Indian Premier League), founded by the BCCI, enters its 15th year, producer Vishnu Vardhan Induri of Thalaivii and 83 announced screen adaptation of Boria Majumdar’s book Maverick Commissioner.

The producer bought the rights of the popular book penned by the sports journalist-academician to make it as a movie.

The film will focus on the biggest cricket league in the world’s genesis and founder Lalit Modi.

Among its many controversies, the biggest was Modi’s suspension in 2010 over alleged financial irregularities, after which the BCCI in 2013 banned him for life.

The makers are in talks with a top star to play the character of Lalit Modi, which will drive the narrative.

The film’s director and other details will be revealed soon.
