2019 Roundup: Director Of The Year

2019 Roundup: Director Of The Year

Telugu Cinema has seen some of the best works and quite a few stinks in terms of direction this year.

Puri Jagannadh made a strong comeback with iSmart Shankar although it cannot be regarded as the best directorial job.

Anil Ravipudi has delivered a huge hit with F2, which is also pretty mediocre in terms of filmmaking.

Some young directors like Swaroop (Agent Sai Srinivas Atreya), Vivek Atreya (Brochevarevaru ra) and Ritesh Rana (Mathu Vadalara) have done a commendable job as directors.

But the director who takes away the crown of 'The Director of The Year' is Gowtham Tinnanuri. His Jersey is not only the best movie of the year but also one of the best films in the last decade.

He has made an authentic sports film that is high on emotions and also has the best story and well executed drama. No wonder Jersey is now being remade in multiple languages.

It's splendid work from a young director who has just made one film before this. Gowtham is all set to direct the Hindi remake of Jersey with Shahid Kapoor.
