Soon after delivering two hits Ee Rojullo and Bus Stop at the beginning of the career, director Maruthi had produced many movies introducing new directors. Many of those films helmed by new directors were ghost directed by him.
When Prema Katha Chitram became huge hit, he claimed that he actually directed the film though the credits were given to new director J Prabhakar Reddy. It was then that he got bad name.
Similarly, writer Kona Venkat who also involves in setting up "film projects" is reportedly doing the ghost direction much like Maruthi.
Last year, he proxy directed Anjali starrer Geetanjali that went to become super hit.
Now, he is doing the same for Nikhil starrer Sankarabharanam, sources told us. People say the director Uday Nandanavanam was more like an assistant director to Kona Venkat on the sets.
Kona directed a movie with Madhavan long back but the film didn't see the light of the day.
People close to Kona say that if his ghost-directed Sankarabharanam too turns out to be hit, he will start using name as director from next movies. Smart move!
