Here is an interesting gossip that is making rounds in film circles at the moment.
Varun Tej who is riding high on the success of Fidaa and Tholi Prema has shown interest to essay the antagonist role in an upcoming film.
Gabbar Singh director Harish Shankar is currently in plans to remake Tamil cult hit Jigarthanda in Telugu.
Tamil film directed by Pizza fame Karthik Subbaraj featured Siddharth and Bobby Simha in lead roles. Harish is reportedly looking for an actor who has hero image to play the negative role in it.
According to the buzz, Varun Tej is keen to take up the challenge. However, neither Varun nor Harish has confirmed the news.
Interestingly, Jigarthanda was dubbed into Telugu as Chikkadu Dorakadu, but went unnoticed. It was regarded as one of the finest dark comedies ever made in Indian cinema. So with perfect star cast and hype the remake has potential to work at the box office.
Perhaps this is the reason why Harish Shankar is looking to rope in Varun Tej for the negative role.
