Amid the ongoing buzz surrounding Deepika Padukone’s controversial exit from Spirit, the film’s team and Triptii Dimri officially announced last Saturday that the Animal actress has stepped in as the new female lead opposite Prabhas.
Now, India Today has exclusively revealed that Triptii is earning a career-high fee of ₹6 crore for the role, marking her second collaboration with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga.
For those unaware, Deepika Padukone was originally the top choice for the female lead in Spirit. However, she later exited the project, and the exact reason remains unclear.
Reports suggest Deepika had demanded a ₹28 crore fee along with a 15% profit share, in addition to imposing strict shooting conditions — demands that reportedly didn’t sit well with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga.
Following her departure, Triptii Dimri was brought on board as the new leading lady.
Spirit, starring Prabhas in the role of a cop, is set to be a massive ₹400 crore production. The film is expected to begin shooting in August and is scheduled for a theatrical release in 2026.
