Pooja Hegde is undergoing a lean phase. All of her recent films, whether in Tamil, Telugu, or Hindi, have bombed at the box office. Now, director Trivikram has unwillingly replaced Pooja Hegde with Sreeleela.
Although Sreeleela has been part of the project, she has now been elevated to the role of main heroine. Mahesh Babu was the one who pushed on these changes.
Sreeleela already has nearly half a dozen movies in her kitty. As the main actress, this will be another big project for her.
There has been no decision regarding Thaman's removal as music director.
After a two-month hiatus, "Guntur Kaaram" will begin production on June 24.
The film, directed by Trivikram and produced by S Radha Krishna of Haarika Haasine Creations, is set to be released in January 2024.
