Weekend USA BO: Sharwanand's Radha flops

Weekend USA BO: Sharwanand's Radha flops

Sharwanand has been delivering good hits in domestic market but the actor is not moving beyond further in overseas. "Radha", the latest masala movie that he did, has failed to attract the overseas audiences. The openings were dismal.

Even after the weekend, "Radha" didn't touch the 100k dollars mark. Such low collections would definitely put the USA distributors in heavy losses.

It is unlikely that the film would see any growth in the coming days. His last hit was "Shatamanam Bhavati" which grossed 700k dollars. The film brought good profits to the distributors.

His earlier hits like "Express Raja" and "Malli Malli Idi Rani Roju" also received in the range of 300k to 500k dollars. This shows that Sharwanand has good market in USA.

As "Radha" is predictable commercial cop drama, the movie didn't win rave reviews. The word of mouth was not strong. So, the overseas audiences didn't come to the theaters.

Sharwanand gets openings in US only when he does movies that are different from the regular stuff and picks up subjects that are "classy".

The other weekend release "Venkatapuram", an intense crime thriller, also ended up with below 4000 dollars opening.

The USA box-office is still dominated by Rajamouli's epic drama "Baahubali 2". So, the new releases have failed to make any impact.
