US Market Remains Dull Collections for Latest Releases

The Sankranthi festival has revived the theatrical business in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states. The domestic market is back on track. The theaters had shut their shops for nine months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

But the crucial USA market is a long way to show signs of recovery. “Krack”, “Master”, “Red” and “Alludu Adhurs”, all the four latest releases had premiered in the USA and are continuing to be screened on limited screens. However, the collections are abysmally low, confirming that the USA market has not opened up yet.

“Master” is the only film that had crossed the $100k mark in its collections. The film has garnered about $200k until now. It may close the business with 300k gross.

Master - $212k
Krack – $89k
Red – $23k
Alludu Adhurs – $2,654

The COVID19 cases are still getting registered in high numbers in the USA. In many cities, cinema screens have remained shut even now. So, the Indian moviegoers in the USA are not stepping out.
