Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Modest Day 1 Expected Despite Hype

Hari Hara Veera Mallu, starring Pawan Kalyan, is set to hit the big screens this Thursday (July 24) after a long and troubled production journey.

The period action drama has faced multiple delays and budget overruns — reportedly exceeding ₹300 crores — making its box office debut a high-stakes moment.

Marking Pawan Kalyan’s return to cinema after nearly two years — and notably, his first film since becoming the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh — the release carries political and fan-driven momentum.

However, despite strong fan enthusiasm, the promotional content, including the trailer and songs, failed to resonate with neutral audiences.

As a result, Hari Hara Veera Mallu is unlikely to match the star’s previous highest opener, Vakeel Saab (₹40.1 crore net).

Industry trackers suggest that even a ₹30 crore opening would be considered a success under current circumstances.

Still, the film is expected to secure the second-biggest opening for a Telugu film in 2025, behind only Ram Charan’s Game Changer, which opened with a massive ₹54 crore net.

The film is poised to outperform recent Telugu releases like Daaku Maharaaj (₹25.35 crore), Sankranthiki Vasthunam (₹23 crore), and HIT: The Third Case (₹21 crore).

Tollywood’s Top 5 Openers of 2025 (Net Collections):

Game Changer – ₹54 crore
Daaku Maharaaj – ₹25.35 crore
Sankranthiki Vasthunam – ₹23 crore
HIT: The Third Case – ₹21 crore
Kuberaa – ₹14.75 crore

While Hari Hara Veera Mallu may not achieve record-breaking numbers on day one, its long-term box office performance will depend on word of mouth and content strength beyond the opening frenzy.
