YSR Prathama Vardhanthi in Atlanta

Jananetha Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy (YSR) gaari Prathama Vardhanthi was observed by YSR Followers of Atlanta on September 6th, 2010. Young and old paid rich homage to the bereaved leader at Sai Murali Restaurant, located in Alpharetta, GA. YS Vivekananda Reddy (YSV), the younger brother of Dr. YSR attended as the Special Guest on the occasion. Raja Narreddy, an NRI and past TAMA President accompanied YSV. They have already attended the Vardhanthi events in Bay Area, Los Angeles, Austin and, Dallas already and would be going to Orlando to participate in Florida YSR Followers event. He is on the YSR Prathama Vardhanthi tour initiated by CelebrateYSR.org. He will be attending Richmond (Sep 8 Dinner), Northern VA/Washington, DC (Sep 9 Dinner), Detroit (Sep 10 Dinner), Chicago (Sep 11 for YSR Followers of Chicago Lunch get-together), NJ/NY (Sep 12 Lunch), and finally Boston (Sep 12 Dinner). Every YSR follower across the United States appreciates the grueling effort of YSV on this tour.

Children welcomed YSV with flower bouquet in on his arrival in ATL airport. Enthusiastic volunteers raised spirited slogans "YSR Amar Hain" and the airport reverberated. Raj Kasireddy and Gireesh Meka organized car rally from the airport to the event location.

Over 300 people attended the vardhanthi event and several speakers expressed their strong love, affection, respect, admiration, and gratitude for YSR and felt the great loss of the twice elected people's leader and undisputed national treasure he was. Venkat Mondeddu coordinated the event and Venkat Chennubhotla acted as MC.

Christopher Palli, Pastor of Atlanta Christian Telugu Community prayed for YSR's soul to be rested in peace. Mahmood Mullah from Islamic Society read passages from Holy Quran. Mr. Phani Dokka read lines from Holy Bhagvadgeetha and offered pooja for YSR's soul.

Gurava Reddy moved the audience to tears when he talked about how much he missed YSR and what YSR meant to him. He said we, all YSR followers must feel like a single family and celebrate the life and legacy of the greatest leader of Andhra Pradesh ever. He then welcomed and seated special guest YS Vivekanda Reddy on to the dais. Raja Narreddy was then invited on to the dais. Raj Koduru read a beautiful poem he wrote for this occasion and dedicated it to YSR. He said he treated YSR as his Chinnaanna. Siva Mattipalli (aka Siva Reddy) expressed his admiration and affection for YSR and how his family is attached to YSR. He expressed how he felt when he visited YSR Samadhi at Idupulapaya on his last visit to India.

Gireesh Meka, with his sad heart, talked about YSR 2009 victory celebrations in Atlanta and how shocked he was of learning YSR's accident. Venkat Mondeddu talked about how YSR was able to concentrate on both high tech and agricultural areas, while managing fiscal responsibility. Bala Indurthi praised YSV as Lakshmana to YSR. Lalitha Gade talked about how thrilled she was to meet YSR when he visited her village while campaigning.  Dr. Raghava Reddy from Philadelphia explained the need for YS Jagan to carry forward social programs introduced by his father to the next level. He implored YSR supporters to stand behind Jagan. Kiran Kandula explained how YSR worked hard for his position and wished YSR continued as CM for more time. Amar Duggasani told the crowd how proud he was of YSR.

Ravi Singareddy talked about how YSR revived agriculture with free power, forgoing agriculture loans and with Jala Yagnam. He praised Arogyasri and wondered if Obama renamed it as Universal Health Care. He said YS Jagan can easily lead the state in the footsteps of YSR. One of the program attendees, visiting from India, explained how he received heart transplant under Arogyasri program. And yet another attendee explained how his village agriculture society avoided bankruptcy from the loan waiver program of YSR. Jayakar talked about pavala vaddi loans empowering rural women.

Vivekananda Reddy, in his philosophical tone expressed his deep affection for his older brother, YSR. He was very appreciative of YSR Followers of Atlanta for their love and respect for his brother. He claimed every YSR follower to be their family.

YSR's life events, a one hour program by SakshiTV was presented and the tears fell from many in the crowd when they watched YSR's undaunted personality on the big screen. Karunakar Reddy and Siva Mattipalli presented memento to YS Vivekananda Reddy commemorate the occasion. Satyanarayana Reddy Tangirala offered vote of thanks and congratulated all the volunteers for making this event successful.

This success of the event was the culmination of willing hard work and dedication of all the volunteers and contributions from YSR followers. Here are some of the volunteers who helped in making this event successful - Srinivasa Reddy Kotluru, Nandagopal Reddy, Gurunath Reddy, Chintham Venkatrami Reddy, Satyanarayana Reddy, Siva Gade, Madhusudhan Reddy, Girish Meka, Siva Mattipalli, Raj Koduru, Venkat Mondeddu, Ravi Singareddy and Gurava Reddy, along with their financial contributions. Karunakar Reddy, Gautham Reddy, Ravi Kandimalla, Ramana Reddy Dodla, Segireddy Srinivas Reddy, and Mahathi Kondamudi also contributed to the event.

Ravinder Reddy Allala of SaiMurali Indian Cuisine provided event location and delicious lunch with YSR special Ragi Sankati. Gurava Reddy appreciated Venkat Arikatla of GreatAndhra.com and Sakshi News and TV for the promotion of all Vardhanthi events across the United States.
