A couple of days after former Andhra Pradesh minister and senior Telugu Desam Party leader P Narayana’s sister-in-law Krishna Priya lodged a complaint against him for alleged sexual harassment, an old video of his own mother making serious charges came to light.
In the video, which has gone viral on social media, Narayana’s mother Ponguru Subbamma, who passed away in April 2020, made an allegation that he had usurped her property by obtaining her signatures on a white paper.
The video showed Subbamma expressing anguish that Narayana had never bothered to look after her and after illegally encroaching her properties, he had not come to see her even once.
It was only on Sunday that Krishna Priya had lodged a complaint with Raidurgam police in Hyderabad alleging that she was subjected to sexual harassment by the ex-minister, since her marriage, which her husband Subrahmanyam was also aware.
However, Subrahmanyam said she had mental health issues since 2017 and appealed to the people not to believe her allegations against Narayana. Krishna Priya retorted saying the medical certificates shown by her husband were obtained from Narayana Medical College itself.
“I don’t have any mental issues,” she said.
The videos and Krishna Priya’s statements gave ample ammunition to the YSR Congress party to attack Narayana and his boss N Chandrababu Naidu. YSRC general secretary V Vijay Sai Reddy lashed out at Narayana for not sparing even his sister-in-law.
On Tuesday, Sai Reddy fired yet another salvo at Narayana and TDP by attaching the video clop having alleged comments of Narayana’s mother against him.
“Do you say your mother was also a mental patient, Mr Narayana?” he asked.
Alleging that whenever the secret of Narayana’s atrocities come out, the TDP is ready to counter with a medical certificate showing mental illness of the family members, Sai Reddy said the day is not far off when the people give the mental certificate to the TDP itself.
