For the first time in the 72-year history of the Miss World pageant, a contestant has withdrawn midway — and not just that.
The incident took a dramatic turn when the contestant made a sensational allegation, stating she felt like a "prostitute" based on how she was treated during a dinner event.
Miss England, Milla Magee, claimed that organisers suggested she mingle with wealthy men at certain tables to "entertain" them during a dinner party. That’s where the controversy began.
The pressing question now is: Who were those wealthy men? And who instructed her to interact with them?
The Telangana government has already constituted a committee to investigate the matter. Identifying those individuals and determining who issued the instructions isn’t expected to be difficult.
Milla Magee participated in just one dinner event. Telangana Tourism Department Principal Secretary Jayesh Ranjan confirmed this, stating it was a single dinner held at the historic Chowmahalla Palace.
The event was attended by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, actor Nagarjuna, and nearly 300 other high-profile guests.
Finding out who was seated with Milla, or who behaved inappropriately, shouldn't be a challenge — especially since the entire event was under CCTV surveillance and followed official protocol.
However, even if middle-aged rich men, as alleged by Milla, are identified, the real question remains: Will the investigation proceed fairly, and will their names be made public?
After all, this was a high-profile gathering. So, who among these elite guests treated Milla Magee in such a demeaning way that made her feel objectified?
That’s the uncomfortable question lingering over this controversy.
