When I wrote my response to Mr. Matta’s comments, I was of the opinion that Sonia and high command knew what they were doing. I change my opinion now. They do not seem to understand the gravity of the situation in Andhra at all. This may be because, in YSR’s absence, she is relying more on the inputs from the so called seniors - DS, KK, VH, and Jaipal, who in my opinion can not even win in the ward they live in. These people never are from people. They are created and supported by Congress high command to keep check on the popular leaders like Kasu, Marri, Jalagam and YSR. Jaipal never belonged to Congress family and he does not have any interests of our beloved Congress party other than just to win as an MP and become a Cabinet Minister at the center (Remember who got him to win in Chevella). These leaders, some say, are cutting the branches that they are sitting on with their malicious campaign against YSR and Jagan, as this may as well lead Congress to disastrous results in the state in coming days. But these so called seniors were never on our Congress tree and they were always trying to cut down the trunk. It’s very sad for Sonia Gandhi to fall for these people’ inputs and smear campaigns that’s being lead by the DSs, KKs, VHs, Jaipals, CBNs, and Ramojis, that never have the party’s best interests.
I am appalled by Sonia Gandhi’s ineptitude in not realizing what’s good for Congress party. I had a high regard for her before YSR died and now not at all. To accuse us by these vested interests that we hyped people’ affection for our beloved YSR and the spate of suicides and heart attacks. If only these people can go in to the villages of Andhra and try saying the same, I am very sure that they would not walk back home. No one human in the history of Telugu gadda inspired and attracted people’ unconditional affection and love than YSR did.
In the above background, we, Congress and YSR supporters are at crossroad now. We have four ways of dealing with the present situation.
- 95% of Congress leaders, workers, elected officials, district and local committees and most people support YS Jagan, he should be made CM right away and let KVP, Rosayya, and other seniors who have best interests of Congress party advise him.
- Sonia Gandhi and high command may be thinking of inviting YS Jagan right away to Delhi and explain him what they are thinking and doing. If they can give him an assurance that he will be the future CM and first they are going to make him PCC President and a key minister under Rosayya for the next two years, possibly overseeing Jalayagnam and the popular schemes introduced by YSR. If they are thinking, we need two years of Rosaiah as CM while YS Jagan is in a good position to learn under him and then take over as CM to lead the party in 2014.
- Sonia Gandhi may be thinking that this is all hype and it will die down soon. She may want to continue Rosayya as CM for now and get someone like Jaipal Reddy or DS or VH or KK or Kika or Purandheswari as CM before elections and that anointed person would lead that party to victory in 2014. If she does in fact have this thought process, then we are all in for ruins. We will lose the state as well as there won’t be any possibility of Rahul Gandhi becoming Prime Minister. If only she understand this, she will not play with fire.
- If the scenario 3 is what’s happening and they not follow the first two scenarios, then we need to go for the ultimate one. Why not we breakaway to form YSR Congress and make Jagan CM right away and win the next elections under him. It seems like risk right now but YSR won the election for Congress party in 2004 and 2009 and not the other way. I do not think Sonia Gandhis and Rahul Gandhis can get the party to win next elections in Andhra but YS Jagan and YSR’s followers. Risks always exist in life. VH to compare Karunakaran to YSR is the ultimate insult. Huge difference between the YSR and any other leader in Congress. In this case, we may as well get Chiranjeevi as the added bonus. We sure can give him better political life than what he could achieve on his own. If YSR’s image and Chiru’s image work together, I do not see any force and a combined force like mahakootami will have any chance. I will challenge Sonia Gandhi to get state official Congress party to win double digit seats in assembly and open the account in MP seats. Let any of the so called seniors to win in one seat. We will be in a great position to get important projects to state as well as negotiate our share of power in the center, just like Karunanidhi.
When the high command makes the right decision, we will support them whole heartedly. If they can not, we need to make the right one. After all, we must keep the vision and legacy of our beloved YSR going. High commands and low commands never matter but YSR for us.
