To those who are not aware, every year the CNN has a hero of the year award and a proud moment has come for all us Indians. A man by name Narayanan Krishnan may be a common face but then, he is the real life hero who has been feeding million destitute mouths. Aged 29, Narayanan is a master chef who left a high profile job in Switzerland and is currently on a mission.
Everyday, Narayanan wakes up at 4 am, prepares a simple meal, goes to a place for the homeless in Madurai about 200 kms from where he lives and feeds nearly 400 destitute people. He also arranges for a free haircut. CNN reports that Narayanan was an award winning chef and today, he is bringing difference to many lives. So far he has provided hot meals to 1.2 million people through his nonprofit organization Akshaya Trust and wants to take it a step further to give shelter to the homeless.
If Krishnan is voted as the number 1 among the 10 heroes, he will win a cash prize which will boost his efforts to spread his humane effort.
