The Telangana movement which has been causing a lot of disturbance to the people of Andhra Pradesh is also developing hatred on the T-agitators for their mindless ways of agitation.
Now, they have taken another step and have decided to use the electronic media to spread their word but even that is turning out to be a laughing affair. Apparently, the T-forces have now launched a news channel titled ‘Raj News Channel’ and the news is that this is a KCR backed channel floated by a real estate group.
The funny part is that every line spoken is in a Telangana slang and lines such as ”Gatla antundu, Thenikki poyindu, Aadiki vachchindu” are being used in every manner possible. Even the title song and the ads are also coming in the similar language. Those who have seen the channel out of curiosity are now saying that this looks like a tribal channel and interestingly, even the Telangana crowds are themselves laughing looking at the channel.
Incidentally, what the so called staunch Telangana seekers don’t realize is that Telangana is slang and it is not a language. To go deeper, the slang differs from places to places like Adilabad, Warangal, Karimnagar etc. Even the great scholar of a proper Telangana background, Dr C Narayana Reddy speaks impeccable Telugu which gives a lot of sweetness to the language. But this rather rustic approach towards the news channel has been causing not only embarrassment to the Telangana crowds and they are also realizing how immature the T-seekers are who speak big words like ‘Udyamam’ ‘Atma Gauravam’.
Well, the real essence of achieving a separate Telangana state does not lie in painting number plates of vehicles with TG or by talking in that slang. It is in the need for the welfare of the common man who lives in the Telangana man and whether he/she at the end of the day would receive their basic amenities and the due justice if the state is given. Speaking in a Telangana slang seems to be a matter of pride for the Raj News team but it is better they realize soon that it is becoming like a comedy treat for the viewers and no sentiment is being brought about by doing so.
