Ever wondered what did Telugu literature produced in past fifty years? Here is a glimpse of its pinnacle.
 
1. Sriramana: Mithunam fame, Sriramana is from Krishna District. He is known for his excellent short stories, columns and parodies. If you miss reading his stories you are missing a life style of one Telugu generation!
 
2. Tilak: Devarakonda Balagangadhara Tilak, Amrutham Kurisina Ratri fame. He is from Tanuku, West Godavari. His poetry is recently quoted by Power star. Apart from excellent modern Telugu poetry, he is known for his short stories. Don't miss reading his poetry and short stories. His stories are like Panchatantra, they help us to learn what generic education system doesn’t teach us.
 
3. Tripura: Born in Ganjam, Orissa. The only Telugu writer who produced high order magic realism stories. One must read and re-read his stories to see the depths of Telugu stories.
 
4. Patanjali: From Vijayanagaram: His writings are Uttarandhra Telugu, they make us laugh, taunt us, they bring out something unknown from deep inside, they make us think, they question us and then they will remain with us as a guide.
 
5. Ka.Ra: Yagnam story fame Kara master is from Srikakulam. Telugu star writer Yandamoori inspired from Kara writing style. His stories are must read. They try to answer the war among Telugu guilds.
 
6. C. Ramachandra Rao: From East Godavari, A manager in tea plantation, Tennis player, uncle of Mahesh Bhupati and an excellent Telugu story writer. His stories mesmerises reader.
 
7. Binadevi: From Rampachodavaram. The most successful husband and wife in Telugu writing. Together they wrote novels, stories, essays, and musings. Their literature first moves reader’s heart and then mind.
 
8. Peddibhotla: From Vijayawada. Sahitya Academy award winner. His stories portray common man troubles. They are highly readable and contemporary.
 
9. Vallampati: From Chittoor, He is story writer, novelist and a great Telugu literary critic. His books are standards for Telugu literature criticism.
 
10. Attada Appalnayudu: From Srikakulam. His stories are full of right satire, comedy and style. They portray Kalinga Telugu culture. They record history of common man for past four decades. They are genuinely concerned about Telugu society as a whole.
