TANA Fund raiser in NY was a Grand Success

More than 150 well wishers and life members of TANA gathered in Long Island NY to support TANA 18th National conference. This fund raiser event is hosted by Mr. Subbarao Anumolu & Mrs. Rajeswari Anumolu, who were strong supporters of TANA for more than three decades.

Mr. Jayasekhar Talluri, member of TANA Foundation Board welcomed the gathering. He reminded, that TLCA of New York) is the first Telugu Association in North America and TANA first conference was hosted by TLCA and held in New York. He also explained the activities of TANA Foundation, such as scholarships, cataract surgeries and other developmental projects back home.

Mr. Anumolu said “TANA is an internationally reputed organization that continuously strive to serve the Telugu people in North America. As a member, I am very proud to see TANA is not only serving the cultural and literary needs but also serving social needs of Telugu people here”.

Mr. Jayaram Komati, president of TANA addressed the gathering and said” We are here to serve the community. Unity among us is the most important thing to show our strength. We are happy to work closely with the other organizations that have similar mottos, but our community should not encourage those who have destructive mentalities”.

Mr. Sateesh Chilukuri, the coordinator explained the progress of 18th conference. “ This conference will be a great conference as we are very selectively bringing the best talent that can represents our culture. Our idea is to encourage our youth talent, so we took the theme as Telugu Yuvatha Pragathi Prateeka. We will be very careful in spending money for external artists. We are getting a overwhelming response from all over the county and we are preparing everything ready to present a wonderful conference” says Mr. Chilukuri.

Mr. Mohan Nannpaneni, the secretary explained the activities of TANA Emergency Assistance Management Team. He said “ TANA become number one source for every Telugu person that needs help in catastrophic incidents. With the generous support of TANA members, donors and volunteers, we have helped more than 70 incidents with over $200,000 contributions in the last two years. On behalf of TANA, I thank you all for your support to the community”. He also thanked Mr. Sambasiva Rao and Mrs. Mahalakshmi Venigalla for their $20,000 donation to TEAM Square activities.

TANA has raised more than $200,000 from this event alone. Mr. Jayaram Komati thanked each and every donor, attendee and the hosts Mr. & Mrs. Rao Anumolu. A huge number of families expressed their interest in attending TANA conference in Santa Clara, California.

Past Presidents, Dr. Dasaradha Ramireddy, Mr. Gangadhar Nadella and Dr. Naren Kodali, Mr. Satish Vemana, Mr. Subbarao Kolla, Mr. Jay Kureti, , Mr. Tirumalarao Tipirneni, Dr. Tulasi & Raghava Rao Polavarapu were some of the TANA representative attended the event.
