Survey: Marrying Older Women Avoids Divorces

With increasing focus towards materialistic comforts and money for luxuries, relationships and value for a person has taken the backseat. The significant example for that is the increasing rate of divorces among the new age couples. While the primary factor for that is the ego clash and the sensitive subject of feminism, a recent survey and study by few relationship experts has come up with an interesting observation and analysis.

As per the survey, it is heard that maximum divorces are not happening if the boy is young and the lady is elder to him. When the girl is young and the boy is elder to her then divorces are happening. The major reason for that is, if the boy is submissive and gives value to girls then the relationship goes smooth. But if he tries to show even a little upper hand, then it is leading to a divorce. This trend has increased a lot after girls have been giving their careers a priority over their life partners.

A slight gesture from the boy makes the girl feel “He is showing domination on me” and this is leading to trouble. However, in a relationship where the boy is younger to the girl, the age is not being considered. Even the girl is also having some affectionate and protective feeling towards her partner. That combo is working. Perhaps that is one reason why Sachin Tendulkar and Anjali, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya, Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher are being touted as the role models for the new age couple.

The divorce rate is very rare in these cases. The survey has revealed that even the bonding is tight. There is also an argument that in Puranas, apparently, Radha and Krishna may not be couple but they are the ideal example of true love. The argument is Radha is elder than Krishna. There is also a similar debate that even Seeta is also elder to Lord Rama.

Though the survey and study might be showing some practical results, the Hindu Dharma is not accepting it. According to Hindu Dharma Shastra, the boy’s age should be more than the girl. If it is not then it is known as ‘Vara Heenam’ which is like a big Dosham. While there is also a logical explanation as to why this age factor is important, given today’s generations and their mindsets, the clash between Science and Shastra will be forever.
