It is known news that the noted NRI association Silicon Andhra has been striving hard to preserve and promote the essence of Telugu culture and language. Now, in another initiative, they formed the Global Internet Forum for Telugu (GIFT) during their first internet symposium in the month of April.
As part of that, they also made few recommendations to the government of Andhra Pradesh regarding the restoration of Telugu language. Now,the government has accepted the inputs and have formed an advisory committee who would be working towards creating a Telugu version of all state government websites.
The committee will comprise of Silicon Andhra founder Kuchibhotla Anand, former minister Buddha Prasad, members of Adhikara BashaSangham, Hyderabad Varsity professor G Uma Maheshwar, Tokyo Varsity professorPeri Bhaskar Rao etc. The panel will cover few key parameters with the objective of providing all forms of news and information in Telugu through the internet. This will be done through the Unicode.
