Satyam Raju trial through video conferencing

Satyam Raju trial through video conferencing

Having fed up with the continued absence of B Ramalinga Raju on health grounds, the disgraced ex-chairman of erstwhile Satyam Computers, the Central Bureau of Investigation on Friday told the Special Court that it would question him through video conferencing.

Raju’s counsels once again told the court that it was not possible to produce him in the court personally because of his precarious health condition. They submitted a report given by Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) stating that Raju was still suffering from heart ailments and Hepatitis-C; as such, his health status is pretty bad.

CBI counsel B Ravindranath told the additional chief metropolitan magistrate and special CBI judge BVLN Chakravarti that if the court permits, the trial could be done through video conferencing method from the NIMS, which was permissible as per the court rules. The court adjourned the petition to April 30, saying it would examine the rule position before permitting the video conferencing.
