Satyam Raju back to NIMS, than jail

Now that the Supreme Court had cancelled the bail of disgraced founder of Satyam Computers B Ramalinga Raju and five others, business circles are curiously watching as to whether he would go to Chanchalguda jail after surrendering to the court before November 8 or go back to the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences in the name of treatment.

Raju got discharged from the NIMS hospital last month saying that he was feeling better and he wanted to take rest in his house. He appeared normal in his health, as he is regularly appearing before the Nampally criminal court and also the CBI office for interrogation.

While discharging him from the hospital at his request, the NIMS authorities also told the media that he was feeling much better and his health had considerably improved.

Now, the Supreme Court has cancelled his bail. Since both the doctors and Raju himself declared that his health condition has improved, he has no other option but to go to Chanchalguda jail. If he goes back to hospital in the name of treatment, it would cause suspicion to the court as well. Moreover, the Supreme Court directed the trial court to complete the entire trial by July 31. So, he needs to come to the court every week and cannot escape trial on the pretext of ill-health.

Under these circumstances, one has to wait and see how Raju would respond.
