Contrary to every one’s opinion, the following strategy by Congress will leave anybody dumbstruck. It is viewed that Congress is adopting a two pronged strategy in terms of T-Bill.
Apparently, it wasn’t as easy as they expected, since TRS is backing of from its original stance to merge with Congress. At the end of the day, if we have to go by the claim of TDP, Congress is doing all this to win in Telangana with help of TRS and in Seemandhra in the form of Jagan. Change in TRS stance means Congress will lose its presence on both the sides.
If the analysis stands true, the 6 weeks given by President will be effectively used by Congress to influence TRS to merge either through negotiation or by force.
If TRS merges before the 40 days given by President, then majority MLAs will send their letters to President with various suggestions to the bill that safeguards their vote bank. All these suggestions can be incorporated in the bill within no time and sent to Parliament. To this extent, they would have secured the strength of enough MLAs, and this was one of the major deals that might have occurred during Diggi’s visit, recently. Even BJP leaders are favourable to smooth passage of the bill, if all their suggestions are included in the bill prior to submitting in the Parliament. In such case, the congress strategy for Seemandhra will be to give full-fledged support to YSRCP and bank on their strength.
If TRS doesn’t merge with Congress, then majority MLAs will send letters to President in favour of United Andhra. Based on some views, Kiran card will be played by the centre. They will make him a big hero as if he single handedly opposed the centre. Because of this, he will become United Andhra champion and will end up winning Seemandhra votes. Then, Congress is confident to regain lost glory on its own. Also T-bill might be pushed till next government is formed, as President may not entertain its passage due to lack of majority in the Assembly.
So basically, TRS though small, can decide the fate of Congress. While we can never underestimate Congress strategies even in using people Rahul Gandhi in creating their own mark on any bill, positive election surveys are keeping TRS in a very comfortable zone.
So they may not yield to Congress pressure unless leaders like Harish Rao are poached. We have to wait and see if that is going to happen, since leaders like Harish Rao are very well apprehensive of the status of erstwhile leaders like Ale Narendra, who were forced into oblivion after splitting from TRS.
