India is one country where life has no value. Everyday, we see many people losing lives due to freak accidents, ignorant mistakes and sometimes, they end up committing suicides because of a small argument with their spouse or because they were not allowed to watch the television.
Given these situations, I fail to understand how one person who is a cold blooded killer being kept alive and that too at a whopping cost.
Well, I am talking about the infamous Amir Ajmal Kasab, the lone terrorist who survived among his team of bandits during the 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai.
Currently staying in the Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai, Kasab has been getting a royal treatment and is guarded by 200 ITBP commandoes apart from the police force. He is given all the facilities and so far, the cost of keeping him alive has touched Rs 10 crores.
With this, a new fight has emerged between the government of Maharasthra and the ITBP folks. If I can put it plainly, this is one of the most foolish and stupidest things that the Indian government can do. I mean…why keep him alive? What for? To prove a point that Pakistan was involved? Well, it has already been confirmed by some of the greatest intelligence sources such as Mossad that it was indeed the Pakistani ISI plot. The latest being David Headley’s statement that it was indeed the ISI involvement.
By keeping Kasab alive for more than an year and wasting the time of the court and humongous paperwork, the system is making a mockery of itself. One thing is sure that India will never take an offensive stand. History has its examples, right from the first Indo-Pak war to the Kargil war, we have always received the battering and now these killers walk around our streets killing people mercilessly but are treated like guests. Is it wrong in killing him???
