Konda Surekha is doing a good job in pushing Jagan's name in news everyday to be reached by her party's high command. So far so good, but choosing Rosaiah as the scapegoat is unpalatable. How he is responsible for the silence of the party in not choosing Jagan as CM ?
I, rather we of Tenali belt know him since 1950s. When I was a student in Guntur, he used to be in the same bus to Tenali, seating not always in the front seat of those private buses, SST, owned by late Sureddy Anjayya also of Tenali. He gets down in the then old bus stand of Tenali and walks thru' passing the two bridges, vegetable market, some times stopping at few shops like khadi stores, Shaw Sonamal Motichand's cloth stores, a few grocery stores, Brothers Hotel etc. to reach 'gadibavi centre' and then proceeding to Bose Road and Chinravuru and onwards. I used to see him all the while talking to so many people some of whom I too know being my elders or our villagers.
No escorts, armed guards, fleets of cars, psychophants with him. Now, me being in late 60s still remember him as like that. To his misfortune, because of his skills as opposition member in Council, he is taken into govt. in those days and has to finally become CM and to receive the brick-bats from her. He is not born with a silver spoon but only just from middle class farming family like Jagan or Babu' families. Because luck favored the later two, Jagan and Babu became the richest and Rosaiah is no match to them in wealth or health. Surekha or Babu must be more sympathetic to him and one can mordantly read his future as, he like me, is spending his evening of his life.
There is a custom in our villages in Tenali belt : even the bitterest enemy will be spared when you have become very old. ( I quote a recent article from a recent Sunday edition of Andhra Jyothy. An old man having lived in major cities, settles in Duggirala village, near Tenali and he said that in a village even an enemy also comes to convey condolences, where as in a city the closest friend would not be able to make it).
That is our old Tenali culture and Konda Surekha and Chandrababu may suitably be advised through your esteemed columns in this regard.
